I see why. Vice grips don’t work as a steering wheel all the time :P

A wheel without an airbag?

Easy fix.

I’ve got the airbag already. Also I just realized they don’t cut the bottom of the wheel to square it off, but rather extend it. No thanks.
The leather on my M3 wheel is worn out, and I’ve got a spare Sport wheel but would really like something similar to above.

Yes, but is it a non-shrapnel Takata bag? ;)
As for the wheel itself, it is a pretty sharp looking wheel. I have to ask though, what’s with the proliferation of squared off wheels lately? Leg room? I would imagine this would just bug me because the wheel isn’t circular. Although it’s still got to be better than driving with this.

Find an upholsery shop you could probably get any material your heart desires sewn onto it for less than a new wheel

Sadly I still have my claymore airbag in my E46. The dealer does not have replacements in yet.

Looks like about $325 for a shipped wheel vs $200 for something similar. I’ll have to check around for a reputable shop.

Put a modern wheel on the Willys just for the lulz

I have a terrible Jegs catalog Grant GT wheel in it right now.

The YJ had a nice one with brushed stainless spokes, you could probably get one for not a lot of money.

Too thin for my taste. I need something with lots of padding. Plus I can pinky-steer my wheel with the power steering setup I have.

So you want a thick steering wheel that looks natural on a vehicle with origins in the 40's. That’s a bit of a tall order.
And frankly I’m surprised the Willys has power steering.

OH! No the wheel above is an E46 wheel for my 330Ci. My existing M3 wheel is worn out and the leather is cracking - it needs replaced.
Yes, we pulled the power steering box off a Cherokee and it’s got a generic GM power steering pump. Very light and tight steering on it.
